Cambodia’s progress has been built on the strength and stability of its leadership. Under Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, our country achieved the peace and order needed to build national systems. Today, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet continues this work with a clear vision for an inclusive future.

At the Ministry of Mines and Energy, we are delivering the 7th Mandate by putting people at the centre of policy, while building the foundations for long-term growth. Our mission is to meet today’s needs responsibly and to secure the future for our people, our communities, and our environment.

Renewables are on track to supply at least 70% of electricity by 2030, with coal capacity set to retire ahead of schedule. To support the move to net zero, sovereign guarantees are de-risking private capital, and the grid is being reinforced with smarter, more resilient systems. Battery storage and other clean technologies are being deployed; last-mile electrification is rolling out; and tariffs are being optimised to keep energy affordable. These measures will help secure a stable, reliable supply while driving Cambodia’s transition toward carbon neutrality. That means more dependable power for households and small businesses across the country.

In the mining sector, environmental and social standards are being strengthened, with benefits directed to host communities through investments in infrastructure, education, and health, alongside a push for value-added processing and for stronger compliance and enforcement. Meanwhile, management of the petroleum sector is being reinforced with an emphasis on environmental and social responsibility, aligned with Cambodia’s development goals.

Across all sectors, services are being modernised and digitalised. These measures are attracting investment, building capability, and creating green jobs, with a focus on women and vulnerable groups. I welcome you to learn more about this work and join us in building a future that is secure, just, and shared by all.
