How to Register as a Certified Energy Manager, an Energy Auditor, or a Power System Professional
Step 1
  • Fill out the relevant application form, which is based on the template provided in the annex of the applicable Prakas, and can be downloaded here.
  • Before submitting an application to the One Window Service Office (OWSO), applicants shall review the following three categories:
    1. For applicants with more than 7 years of experience, certification shall be granted automatically.
    2. For applicants with 3 to 7 years of experience, certification shall be granted upon passing the Proficiency Test from an accredited training institution.
    3. For applicants with less than 3 years of experience, certification shall be granted after completing additional training and successfully passing the Proficiency Test from an accredited training institution.
Step 2
  • The applicant must submit the completed form and supporting documents to the One Window Service Office (OWSO) of the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME). OWSO forwards them to the responsible department for checking. The application will only be considered officially submitted once the department confirms completeness and accuracy.
Step 3
  • Technical officials from the responsible department will verify and assess the application, based on the submitted documents, in preparation for registration approval.
Step 4
  • The approval process will be completed within 10 working days from the date a complete application is received.
  • Once finalised, the applicant may obtain the Certificate and ID Card from the responsible department.
  • The Certificate of Registration as a Certified Energy Manager, an Energy Auditor, or a Power System Professional is valid for 5 years and can be extended for another 5 years.

  • Applicants shall pay the public service fees as set out in the Inter-Ministerial Prakas
How to Register as a Certified Service Provider in Installation, Maintenance, and/or Repair Energy Systems, or as an Energy Service Company (ESCOs)
